are running using Jaunty or Karmic, please run the command apport-collect -p
alsa-base 531146.
If you are running Karmic, please read through the following wiki page as it
resolves a lot of common audio problems.

I have re-assigned this back to the default "ubuntu" task as it does not appear
to be a "gnome-media" related issue.
