Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
On my HP Mini netbook testing Lucid, gnome-screensaver asks for a password like
it normally should.
After entering the password and hitting enter, it says 'Checking...' and hangs.
I gave it an hour, then I switched to the console and ran killall
gnome-screensaver.
