It happens quite often that an icon I have selected on the desktop stays
selected when I select/click on something else inside nautilus. Now when
I delete something using shift+entf I accidently delete the selected
item inside nautilus instead of the selected item on the desktop! In a
consistent user interface i should generally not be able to have items
selected simultaneously in different locations. Only the application the
currently has the focus should display an item as selected. So in the
situation described above, the selection of the item on the desktop
should be hidden as soon as the desktop looses focus. This is pretty
serious as the user might delete data without intend!!
