Oh well...what can I say, other than, I can promise with 100% certainty that the desktop does not load for 20 seconds. After the login box disappears, the 'light theme' is all that I see for 20 seconds - there is no wallpaper, nor panels nor a usable desktop until 20 seconds have passed. Why boot chart is not showing this, I have no idea. As I said yesterday, if I have already got a desktop going and then logout and back in, the desktop, appears very quickly (in fact before the music theme has stopped), but from a cold boot, it is extremely slow. I'll change the wallpaper and see if that makes a difference (although it is a native one). I'll let you know what transpires. Thanks for the interest, even the bootchart is not showing what is actually occurring.
