Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

The default "theme" for gnome-terminal is ambiance. It using a
faux-transparency effect to blend with the background.

If the user is running any other desktop theme, such as Human or
Radiance, the terminal default theme should change to match. Or at
least remain the "legacy" default.

Also, since ubuntu has by default made compiz available and active if
GPU can handle it, the transparency effect should be eliminated. It
should instead be made active by only the built in compiz compositing
window transparency. This present a natural and effective approach, if
indeed it is necessary to have transparency in the terminal at all. (I
actually prefer it, but I do not see why it is default)
