Just to add my input here to Mark, The design team, and everyone else
involved. This is a MAJOR change, and is a huge risk. I like people
taking risks, however, I really do not think that an LTS version of the
Operating system is the place to do this sort of thing. Especially when
there are so many other applications (which have been mentioned more
than enough times in this post) all have the close button on the right.

My vote here goes to reverting back to buttons on the right, and then at
the very start of the work on the next release to play with which order
buttons should go in, (close on the right, minimise/maximise on the left
as another example). I might be interested in this change, however not
at the beginning of an LTS, when other applications do not (and probably
will not) follow suit. from a usability point of view this is going to
annoy far more people than it pleases.

I honestly do like the idea of changing it, I just don't think this is
the right time to do so.
