Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nautilus
recently, and somewhat randomly, nautilus stopped showing thumbnails
(any thumbnails). I thought it was cover thumbnailer at fault, but I've
since removed and reinstalled it several times with no change.
There are no pdf, html, video, or office thumbnails... no thumbnails at
all.
Of note, pcmanfm shows thumbnails for images (probably unrelated). I can
watch videos fine, so it's not codecs (please, do not tell me about
missing codecs; it's not that at all).
I've tried using the "solution" of deleting the ./thumbnails folder. it
didn't work, and in fact, nautilus refuses to recreate any thumbnails :(
what is interesting tho is that the image viewer does place thumbnails
in this folder.
Also, I have firefox 3.7dev installed, can this be a part of the issue?
should I remove it to test?
