The Finnish keyboard layout had mysteriously corrected itself last night (Eastern European Time). It even had the AT sign on the correct key, AltGr + 2, so I got hopeful and installed the Russian keyboard layout alongside the Finnish one. The result was a sad one.
Now I can tell you the steps to produce the error: Step #1: Start /usr/bin/gnome-keyboard-properties, Step #2: Install a keyboard, Step #3: Exit /usr/bin/gnome-keyboard-properties. I am baffled.
