Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Ubuntu 9.10
evolution: Installed: 2.28.1-0ubuntu2

Attempted to move an email from the INBOX to another folder, the copy was
successful but the original remained in the INBOX with the following error
message:
"Unable to retrieve message
Cannot get message: 1231 from folder /home/jack/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox The
folder appears to be irrecoverably corrupted."
Repeated attempts to delete this message where unsuccessful.
Shut down program and the shut down computer with attempts to delete were also
unsuccessful.
Closed the program, restarted the computer and then went to
/home/jack/.evolution/mail/local/ and deleted "Inbox",
"Inbox.cmeta","Inbox.ibex.index" and "Inbox.ibex.index.data".
Restarted the program, but the situation was unchanged.
Did a "Backup Settings..." with the hope that the "Restore Settings.." might
clear the problem - no such luck!
I do appear to be able to receive email from other sources.
It appears that I can send emails but not to myself. Mail sent to my Hotmail
account got there but the Evolution retrieval put it in my BCC mail box.
I have seven email addresses that are polled by Evolution, one of which is used
as my BCC address.

What next?
