Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-nettool
After I upgraded the Netbook Remixof Karmic Koala (9.10) from kernel release
2.6.31-14 to 2.1.31-20 I have noticed that the wireless network has become
noticeably less stable. I have found that after I hibernate or put the netbook
to sleep. The unit is an MSI Wind U130. I have found the unit saying it is
searching for a connection, but if i click on the wlan item on the task bar, it
says I'm already connected. If I open the terminal window, and type ifconfig I
can see that I have the right IP address.
In some instances I have been asked for the WPA2 code to access the network
multiple times, despite my having connected several times earlier without
having to give the code. I have also seen my SSID appear twice in the list of
available networks.
I have now rebooted in the earlier kernel release and this seems much
more stable.
