Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I have a directory full of mp3s that currently have no id3tags set.
In rhythmbox under Music, all thise show up as Genre, Album and Artist
are all Unknown.
So I selected them all, right click, properties and change the year to
2009 and the album to the correct album name. The first time I tried
this (there are 56 files in all) the first few DID accept the new tags,
but the rest failed with an error box that said "Unable to create tag
writing elements."
All 56 DID change the year to 2009, but Genre and Album were not
changed.
Nor can I change them one at a time.
I looked at the file perms and they are all set to 644, so my user
should be able to edit those tags and write to the files...
