Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Command:                   rhythmbox %U
Full executable path:   /usr/bin/rhythmbox

1) Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic koala); Gnome environment;

2) rhythmbox:
  Installed: 0.12.5-0ubuntu5.2
  Candidate: 0.12.5-0ubuntu5.2
  Version table:
 *** 0.12.5-0ubuntu5.2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     0.12.5-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages

3) Expected: when 'playing' any standard mp3 file in rhythmbox, entire
song plays; next song plays thereafter, etc.;

4) Observed: upon playing first mp3 file- it plays correctly for ~5 - 20
seconds, then stops playing abruptly; Rhythmbox hangs: graphical
interface no longer responsive (buttons don't work); occasionally,
rhythmbox cannot be stopped in this hanged state by selecting the "X"
button (close window) at upper-right corner of window; must use kill -9
(rhythmbox proc) as root uid to stop rhythmbox. This behaviour is
consistent and repeatable. Ubuntu updates are applied daily on this
system.
