Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
The Visual Effects setting in Appearance Preferences hangs when
switching from None to Normal / Extra / Custom. The effects setting is
successfully changed, but the dialog itself hangs.
The "Keep Settings" > "Do you want to keep these settings?" dialog
appears. Select "Keep Settings," and the dialog hangs. Killing gnome-
appearance-properties successfully ends the process.
Using proprietary NVIDIA drivers as installed via Jockey. NVIDIA-control
settings reports driver version 195.36.15 x86.
This appears to be separate from similar bugs from previous releases.
The same configuration works with Karmic.
