Thanks for your report. You say the tool crashed while changing password
for root. But how could you change that password if the root account is
hidden?!

BTW, hiding root is done by intent. If you want to set a root password,
you can run 'sudo passwd': people that want to set a root password have
to know how the commandline works, since that's the only place where it
can be useful.
