Binary package hint: gnome-session
Since GNOME is huge, I'm not sure if this is a gnome-session issue, so
excuse me if this is the wrong place to report the bug.
After each Ubuntu upgrade (it happened to me previously and now it
happened again with the latest upgrade) my setting to use a custom
window manager (ion3 before, awesome now) is lost. I mean my *user*
setting, is not even a system setting. I change the
/desktop/gnome/session/required_components/windowmanager gconf key to
"awesome" to override the WM setting. After upgrading, that key is
overwritten with "metacity".
I find this behavior a little annoying.
