I've noticed this occurs only if I start with AC unplugged. It dimes
screen on startup and if I either plug or unplug later nothing happens.
But I still able to control brightness manually using scripts (not Fn-Fx
buttons).

If I start Ubuntu with AC power attached, everything is fine. I can
control brightness using Fn-F6/Fn-F7 buttons. It also switches to
battery mode if I unplug and then switches to AC mode when I plug
adapter.

I don't know how I can debug it and eliminate this problem.
