Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Selecting "Dim Brightness" in Power Management console makes the
resolution go 4 times as large as it should be - therefore I'm only able
to see 1/4 of the screen (top-left). I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and arrow down
to Hibernate, which won't work, but sends me back to the lock-out login
screen, in the right size.
