When using ubuntu 10.04 it is not possible to use the sleep mode and the
pause mode for the computer normally anymore. I am using a laptop from
Toshiba, A100-405, with two operating systems. The below mentioned
problems only occur when using ubuntu.
When setting the choice to sleep mode, the computer does switch off but
even when making the choice for shutting down the hard disk, that does
not work. When restarting, I first come into the grub menu.
When setting the choice to pause mode, the computer does go into pause
mode, but not shutting down the hard disk (see above). When waking it up
from this mode, the screen only shows vertical colored striping. No key
will stop this, so it is only possible to shut of the computer
completely by pressing the on/off button.
