Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi !

It is the second time Evolution does this : it checks new mails from gmail ;
writing on the bottom of the window “Pinging IMAP Server imap.gmail.com”. From
now, no problem.
The problem is that it doesn’t stop for hours, although the Internet connection
is still there.
When I click on the little cross to cancel, nothing appear.
When I try to stop Evolution, all the window freeze, waiting for the thread to
terminate I suppose. But it doesn’t terminate.
I had to type “killall evolution” to close it.

It seems to be gmail that causes the problem : my other mail never had any
problem like that.
Maybe an information between gmail and my computer was lost, and evolution
still wait for it to return ?

This is the second time Evolution does that, but it does not every time.
When I restart Evolution after killing it, no problem appears.

I’m on Lucid. Maybe it’s because of the upgrade ?
It’s a minor bug I think, but I prefer reporting it.

Thank you for advance.
Martin.
