Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Do you remember if there was a crash during a Guest
session? If it is the case, the problem may be caused by files named
/etc/passwd.lock and /etc/shadow.lock that were left at this occasion.
There is a possibility that this bug is the same bug as reported at
