This happened twice in two different machines. I was logged as, lets, say, user
AAA. Then,
within AAA account, I logged into user account BBB (using the standard menu). I
worked
a little on BBB account, and logged off from BBB, expecting the locked screen
of AAA
or the login screen to show up. Neither happened, and I got a urresponsive
black screen,
the second time there was a mouse cursor that could be moved. In one case I had
to hard-reboot, as the machine was not accessible from other ttys and could not
be
accessed remotely. In the second case I could log from another machine and kill
the
"gdm" processes, that recovered that login screen.
I'm working with Lucid Lynx.
