Binary package hint: metacity
PROBLEM
Whenever OpenOffice or Firefox is launched, metacity crashes and leves
desktop unusable (apart from panel, other apps not "focusable")
OBSERVATIONS
When metacity is invoked from VT with:
DISPLAY=:0.0 metacity --replace
and then firefox is started in X, this is printed to stderr from metacity:
