I'm accepting this as a papercut as this is indeed a usability issue
that shouldn't be too hard to fix. Thank you for taking the time to
report this issue and providing us with three possible solutions.
Not to people willing to fix this issue: please make sure to fix this
early in the cycle as not to upset the translators and the release
manager by violating the freezes.
