Public bug reported:
upgraded client and server to edgy.
Before: client could use totem to stream avi files from servers samba share.
Now: client gives error "totem could not play: "smb://.../....avi" could not
read from resource" .
However manually copying the file thru nautilus to the client does work.
After which totem plays the file just fine.
