Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
I noticed recently that my laptop no longer fades to black when the screen locks, either from suspending, logging out, or just locking the screen. I built the gnome-screensaver package and ran test-fade, and sure enough it doesn't fade, the screen just goes black. If I edit gs- fade.c and disable the xrandr fade method, the screensaver uses gamma ramps instead and this results in a proper fade. This is with nvidia proprietary drivers and compiz. I'm almost certain that the fades were working previously with Lucid, this is a recent regression from the past week or two. ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- xrandr fade method fails, just cuts to black https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
