Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
Releases: Ubuntu 10.04 32/64-bit confirmed, not on Kubuntu or Xubuntu,
as they don't use gnome. Might happen on earlier versions of Ubuntu, not
confirmed.

Happens in most recent update to gnome-screensaver, around 2 weeks ago.
Happened in a recent update to gnome-screensaver. When clicking lock screen,
the fade to black effect isn't present, the screen immediately goes to black
and sometimes quite sloppily in terms of vertical sync.
