Power Manager Brightness Applet fails to alter LCD screen brightness
regardless of setting.
Fault observed consistently since clean install Ubuntu 10.04.
Two aspects to fault:
1/ using slider with mouse does not work at all. Slider sub-window
closes.
2/ using slider via keyboard moves the slider. This however does not
influence LCD brightness.
Notes:

Software:
- Ubuntu 10.04 LTS new install, AMD64bit
Equipment:
- Toshiba A210 laptop
