I am also a subscriber to bug #554172, CUPS & other services not starting up at boot.
It has been suggested to me that my lack of keyboard & mouse may be due to these not being"started" in the normal way, particularly as they are started when I use the abnormal way to boot (as described above in #2). Any comments?
