Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Many laptops have ambient light sensors which can used to trigger
keyboard backlight or screen brightness adjustment. Currently pommed
allows changing screen brightness only manually and keyboard backlight
cannot be switched on/off automatically. all the settings like timeouts
etc are to be configured in the poomed config file. An option should be
provided to activate/deactivate keyboard backlight and enable/disable
screen brightness adjust based on ambient light sensor in power manager.
This reduces application foot print and provides a single consistent
place for adjusting power consumption.

** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
