1) I am a Linux/Ubuntu newby
2) I am running the Ubuntu 10.10 (Meercat) version because the Toshiba Tecra on
which I loaded Ubuntu 10.04 would not
install, and these 'help' messages suggested trying 10.10 as a solution (it
worked).
