I wouldn't call a thicker border less beautiful. In fact, I have tried increasing the border size in the Ambiance theme and quite like the result from both an aesthetic and a usability standpoint. (The only downside is a minor artifact around the menus, but I'm sure an official solution would be able to solve this).
Was this discussed in Ubuntu Developer Summit last month? Was a decision reached? Can we expect a fix for Lynx or should we just use a different theme?
