As a workaround you can try entering the streams as rtsp URIs, e.g. rtsp://wms-trn-all.streaming.net.nz/trn-newstalk-zb-akl
The given streams are actually RTSP streams, the MMS handler detects this and indicates to Rhythmbox that it should treat them as RTSP but RB does not handle this message (Totem does).
