Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
When the idle time reaches the screensaver timeout, gnome-screensaver
beings to slowly fade out the screen. It used to be that if you noticed
the screen fading out, you could hit a key or move the mouse to
interrupt it and prevent the screen from locking; that’s useful if
you’re just looking at the screen (watching a movie, say). In current
maverick, however, the desktop is completely unresponsive to keyboard
and mouse input during the slow fade-out. You now have to wait several
seconds for the fade-out to complete, then unlock the screen using your
password. Please restore the previous behavior and allow the fade-out
to be interrupted.
