Using epiphany 2.22.2-0ubuntu0.8.04.6 and xulrunner-1.9.2
1.9.2.4+build7+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.2 from the ubuntu-mozilla-security PPA
cannot open URLs for many file types. The following are known not to work:
pdf (evince)
doc, xls, odp, odt, ods, rtf (OO.o)
tiff (eog)
html files and images seem fine.
WORKAROUND: right click on the URL, and click 'Save Link As'.
