I have two Ubuntu 10.04 computers that are experiencing this problem,
while a third computer seems to be working fine. From the working
desktop computer I can mount the public files share on my laptop and can
copy files back and forth just fine. However, from my laptop I get the
mount error message described in the bug report if I try to mount the
public files share provided by the desktop computer. My second desktop
computer exhibits the same behavior as the laptop; it's public share
appears in the network place in Nautilus and can be mounted by my
working desktop computer, but it can not mount the public shares
provided by the other computers on the network.
