Binary package hint: firefox

Ubuntu 10.04LTS
Not sure if the problem is with Firefox or Evolution, but I can no longer send
or receive emails from my yahoo or ntlworld accounts.
I have made no changes to my system other than accept the routine upgrades -
Firefox 3.6.6?
If I click on send/receive I get the following message:

MAIL FROM command failed: authentication required - for help go to
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-11.html

Thanks
