Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution
OK there are many bug reports here. Unfortunately none of them describes the
problem I am having.
I am using Evolution 2.28.1 in Ubuntu 9.10 I am not a computer programmer so
anything beyond that information is out of my ballpark!
I have had Evolution set up for some time on this computer. I recently
had some problems sending messages with my Yahoo account on my
Verizon.net mail server. I discoverd that I was not using the correct
"outgoing" setting.
I corrected this problem. However I have now discovered that many
important messages were never sent. I cannot access the "sent" folder,
either.
I keep getting a message at the close of Evolution "you have unsent
e'mails" however they are never sent!
I just discovered this problem when I tried to search my sent messages
and nothing was there. I then tried sending myself messages with
evolution and none were delivered. However if I use the accounts
themselves ( Yahoo, Verizon, and gmail ) I receive the messages. So the
problem is obviously with Evolution. None of my settings have been
changed, other than the one for my Yahoo outgoing mail.
The slider window shows the mail being sent ( the blue sliders ) yet
nothing is actually being sent!
I have already now lost several very important e'mails, as well as
"replies" that were not sent out. I only found this out, when someone
sent me an email asking why they had not heard from me in several weeks!
Evolution showed those messages as having been replied!
This all started when I tried to send a message using my yahoo account
through verizon.net. This means none of my messages have been sent for
over a month!
This is a bug report, please list as such! If I cannot correct the
problem I will have to stop using Evolution. Since I long ago deleted
windows on this laptop, I have no recourse.
