I've tested totem in ubuntu lucid [with an ATI video card (a vary old ati)]... This problem still happens. Whe composite is enable, No Video. But i also tested in VBox (host has a Nvida 7xxx video card). And worked perfectly when composity is on. I hava a ATI HD4850 at home, but i don remember if it works.
May it is a problem just with old ATI's (or worst, all ATI's).
