A very unhelpful update from eBay customer support - " I have noticed that you're currently using a Linux as your operating system. As of now, the recommended operating system that can support eBay functions are Microsoft Windows and Macintosh. This is the reason why some hyperlinks can't be processed by your email client because when using a different operating system like Linux, other eBay functions may not be supported. I suggest that you use the supported operating systems when using eBay to ensure proper functionality of the site. "
