I also would love to see this implemented. I'm very happy with the F-Spot software, but I almost wiped my SD card before realizing that the AVI files weren't imported. It would be nice if F-Spot listed the flies it couldn't import so that users were at least aware of it. Or even better, I would prefer that it copy all files into dated the file/directory structure during an import, even if some file types (such as movies) are not imported into the actual database. That way, I can safely wipe my camera card or delete an import directory without worrying about losing files.
Unfortunately this is a dealbreaker for me. As another user mentioned, it's too much work to sync my camera to multiple programs.
