Hi,

I created a ~/.xmodmaprc to turn of the caps lock key and to modfiy some
keys on a particular keyboard.

When I restart gnome with the new .xmodmaprc for the first time, a
graphical requester appears, asking me whether to read that xmodmaprc. I
entered the file (and left the "dont ask again" option checked). For
that particular session everything worked as expected. But since the
next gnome session, the .xmodmaprc is not executed anymore (thus
ineffective), and the requester does not appear. So there is no plain
way to have keybordmodifications permanent. I guess there's something
wrong deep inside the gnome internals. Looks as if it registers that
file to be read in the gnome settings, but does not actually read it.
