This bug affect me too.
Manually editing the fstab is not a normal and easy way for a new user.
All partitions should be mounted by default. The experienced user will
have the knowledge to modify this behaviour. And as ubuntu / kubuntu are
meaned to be easy to use, the modification of this behaviour should be
done by an easy GUI.
