Dear Pedro Villavicencio, Thank you for your reply,to my problem, of , unable to play DVD video films , on Ubuntu 9.10 & 10.4. 1 - have placed DVD film in cd/ DVD, tray, 2 - have closed cd / DVD tray. 3 - have selected , Media player, from Ubuntu options, 4- I expected to be able to view the film as per a normal DVD player, what i get is a menu , but a blanked out box where the actual film should be, in the centre of the box is an alert box with a big red, not allowed, icon and it sais," An error occurred," underneath, it said, " could not open location, you might not have permission to open the file ". Just to let you know, i have never been able to play a DVD movie , on any M/c,that i have tried Ubuntu 9.10 / 10.4 on. Thank you so much again , for taking the time to answer this, problem, please forgive me if this, is something i have not installed, obviously, all M/c.s have DVD units in them. But for this , i am enjoying this fantastic system. Best wishes, Gerry Sexton.
