I got something like this with SUSE 11.2. Gnome no longer started 'any'
WM (no window borders or decoration), and E16 itself starting acting
funny, like not spawning *information* or *confirmation* popup windows
like for entering passwords or permitting downloads from the web. I
don't know if choosing the E16 With Gnome option is responsible, but
when I uninstalled E16, and reinstalled it, all was working fine. I'll
keep an eye on it and report anything of relevence. But for now, I'm
staying away from that dubious option in GDM.  : )
