I'm just an interested user, but I find the current maverick (packages
up to date) behavior counter-intuitive. It is possible I am alone in
this but maybe not. Consider:

Start RB from Sound Indicator in the tray
Start some music playing

Now - I would hope to be able to minimise Rhythmbox back to the Sound
Indicator and have the music continue playing however ...

Minimising rhythmbox obviously minimises to the panel
Clicking the cross obviously closes the window
This feels normal and expected

There doesn't appear to be a way to minimise to the sound indicator. The
'Status Icon' plugin does what it says on the tin and works, but I guess
the thing is I don't see the point in having a separate RB tray icon
alongside the sound indicator functionality?
