Public bug reported:
Network-manager does not apply the selected modem speaker volume setting and
ignores it's own settings when attemping to activate the modem device.
Example: Using network-manager, modem speaker is set to OFF. Now the connection
is activated and the modem speaker is heard loud and clear with no regards to
the previous settings.
Tested with a D-Link external serial modem
