Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
Dapper release
I have a Sony FE11H laptop, with ipw3945 wireless card, supported by
kernel. Dmesg output :
ipw3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.0.3m
[4294688.134000] ipw3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2006 Intel Corporation
[4294688.134000] ipw3945: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
ifconfig -a does reports eth1 interface (MAC address is the right one),
so the card is correctly detected.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. double click on network manager (two computers icon)
2. No eth1 in the drop down list : if I type "eth1" , power transmission is
zero anyway, while activity led is flickering
3. If I push "Configure" Button and I do all the config for eth1 card (which is
sometimes listed), no way to make it work. Chosing "activate" interface make
the network manager hang forever with the dialog "activating eth1 card"
Please tell me any other command to execute in order to find the problem I'm
gonna follow this bug as closely as I can.
So no way found to make my wireless card work under linux...
