Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

in 10.04 renaming a file would just preselect the file name, not the
filename and the extension; it now (10.04) selects the entire thing

it is _much_ more useful to not preselect the extension for filenames
like it used to; almost all of the time that is the intended behavior,
rarely do you change the extension

this is a high profile regression for my common usage of
ubuntu/nautilus, i'm often renaming files.
