You have been subscribed to a public bug:

After installing ubuntu 10.10 beta, one of the first things I did was
uninstall applications that I do not use, one of which is Evolution.
Later I noticed a new item in the system preferences menu called "Email
Settings". However, when clicking this option I got an error message:

Could not launch 'Email Settings'
Failed to execute child process "evolution-settings" (No such file or directory)

Since this system preferences item is specifically related to Evolution,
it would makes sense to remove it from the system preferences menu if
Evolution is uninstalled. I have also noticed a similar phenomenon
whereby uninstalling Evolution only removes it from the Applications >
Internet sub-menu but not from the Applications > Office sub-menu. It
must be manually removed instead.

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Incomplete
