Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

After upgrade to Ubuntu 10.10 I've noticed not all speakers are muted when
pluging in headphones.
Observed on Toshiba Quosmio X300 notebook with 5 speakers. The fifth ("sub") is
not muted, the other 4 are OK.
I can mute the speakers if I manually set sound output (in sound options) to
Analog Output or Analog Headphones.
But then none of the speakers will work when headphones unplugged.
Maybe it doesn't know it has a 4.1 system.
On the bright side, sound is much more powerfull, crisper and just sounds much
better than in any previuos Ubuntu version.

         Status: New
